We're excited to announce our upcoming event to be held May 3 in Miami in support of Our Little Roses Film.
Friends of the film, please come join us for an evening filled with poetry readings by Richard Blanco and even an exclusive sneak peak at highlights of some of our latest footage of the girls.
Presidential Inauguration Poet Richard Blanco in collaboration with friend and Fulbright Scholar Padre Spencer Reece are co-editing an anthology of poems written by school children at Our Little Roses Ministries in San Pedro Sula Honduras. Together Mr. Blanco and Padre Spencer will collect poems written in Spanish and English by older girls at Our Little Roses and 9th grade students at the bilingual school. This collection of poems will be accented with watercolors also painted by girls from Our Little Roses.
Film director Brad Coley will capture the year-long process in a feature-length documentary film that features Our Little Roses Ministries and its home for abandoned and abused girls and its bilingual school where Padre Spencer now teaches poetry. Acclaimed actor James Franco (Oz The Great and Powerful) is executive producing the film and Pop-Folk Singer/Songwriter Dar Williams is creating and writing the soundtrack.
